Reliable Fastening Where Access Is Limited

Self tapping screws are essential in applications where only one side of the material can be reached, and these Raised Countersunk Pozi BZP variants are engineered specifically for that purpose. Designed to cut their own thread into a pre‑drilled hole, they create a secure, vibration‑resistant hold without the need for nuts, inserts or rear access. This makes them ideal for attaching components to sheet metal, plastics and other thin materials commonly found in electrical, automotive, HVAC and general fabrication work.

Clean, Professional Finish with a Raised Countersunk Head

The raised countersunk head provides a neat, low‑profile appearance once installed, allowing the screw to sit comfortably within the surface while still offering a slightly domed profile for added strength. Combined with a Pozi drive, these screws deliver excellent torque control and reduced cam‑out, making installation smoother and more efficient, especially when using power tools.

Sharp AB Point for Fast, Positive Starting

The AB (sharp) point is designed to bite quickly into pre‑drilled material, reducing installation time and improving accuracy. This sharp point style is particularly effective in sheet metal and plastics, ensuring a clean start and a strong, consistent thread as the screw forms its own path.

Durable BZP Finish for Corrosion Resistance

Finished in Bright Zinc Plate (BZP), these screws offer enhanced resistance to corrosion, making them suitable for indoor environments and general‑purpose applications. The protective coating helps maintain appearance and performance over time, even in areas exposed to moisture or handling.

Manufactured to BS4174 Standards

Conformance to BS4174 ensures consistent quality, reliable performance and compatibility across a wide range of professional applications. Whether used in manufacturing, repair work or installation projects, these screws provide dependable fastening with a clean, professional finish.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to drill a pilot hole for these?

Yes. Unlike "Self-Drilling" (Tek) screws, "Self-Tapping" screws require a pre-drilled pilot hole. The size of the hole depends on the thickness and hardness of the material you are screwing into; if the hole is too small, the screw may snap, and if it is too big, the threads won't grip.

What is the difference between Phillips and Pozi drive?

While they look similar, a Pozi drive has four additional small "tick marks" between the main cross. This design allows for more surface contact between the screwdriver and the screw, reducing the chance of the tool slipping out (cam-out) under high torque. We recommend always using a Pozi bit for these screws.

Can I use these screws outdoors?

BZP (Bright Zinc Plated) offers good protection for indoor environments. If used outdoors, they will eventually rust over time. For permanent outdoor fixtures exposed to rain, we would recommend using Stainless Steel self-tappers instead.
