Frequently Asked Questions
What does the "Ah" (Amp-hour) rating on a battery mean?
What does the "Ah" (Amp-hour) rating on a battery mean?
Think of the Ah rating as the size of the battery's fuel tank. A higher Amp-hour rating (like 5.2Ah or 8.0Ah) means the battery can run the tool for a much longer period before needing a recharge compared to a lower rating (like 2.0Ah). Keep in mind that higher Ah batteries are generally heavier, so you must balance runtime with the physical weight of the tool.
Are Metabo batteries compatible with other tool brands?
Are Metabo batteries compatible with other tool brands?
Metabo is the leading founder of the CAS (Cordless Alliance System). This means their 18V battery packs are 100% cross-compatible with a massive network of other specialized professional brands within the CAS alliance. However, they will not fit standard Bosch or Einhell tools, as those brands utilize their own proprietary battery mounts.
Is it safe to leave my lithium-ion batteries on the charger overnight?
Is it safe to leave my lithium-ion batteries on the charger overnight?
Yes. Modern lithium-ion batteries and the smart rapid chargers we supply from Metabo, Bosch, and Einhell feature built-in electronic protection systems. Once the battery reaches 100%, the charger automatically stops the current to prevent overcharging and cell damage. However, for long-term storage (several months), it is best to store them off the charger in a cool, dry place at roughly 50% capacity.
