Overview

Zinc and Yellow Plated (ZYP) throughbolts are high-strength, torque-controlled expansion anchors designed for solid, non-cracked concrete. How it works

Installing a throughbolt is brilliantly fast. Position your fixture exactly where you want it, and using a hammer drill, bore a hole directly through the fixture's clearance hole straight down into the concrete. Clear the dust out, then firmly tap the throughbolt through your fixture and into the concrete hole until the washer sits flush against the metal. Finally, tighten the nut with a torque wrench. As you tighten, the internal wedge pulls up, flaring the three-way expansion sleeve aggressively against the concrete walls for a permanent, rock-solid hold.

Strength is just as important as speed. Once you drop the anchor in and apply a wrench, it acts as a torque-controlled fixing. As you tighten the nut, the central bolt is pulled upward.

This action forces the three-way expansion sleeve to spread outward, gripping aggressively against the sides of the concrete hole. You get an incredibly secure, immediate mechanical lock that easily handles heavy static loads.
