Rockfall RF910 Surge: EH Waterproof Safety Boot (18kV ASTM F2412-18). Sustainable, non-metallic, SBP SRC, HRO CI. Fibreglass toe, Kevlar midsole.

The Rockfall RF910 Surge is a state-of-the-art safety boot meticulously engineered for professionals in demanding sectors like Construction, Civils, and Utilities, where electrical hazards and harsh conditions are a daily reality. This boot is packed with advanced safety features and designed with sustainability at its core. Its primary defence is the Electrical Hazard (EH) protection, certified to withstand electrical risks of 18kV in accordance with the ASTM F2412-18 test method, offering critical protection when working near live circuits.

Stay dry and comfortable in any weather thanks to the Activ-Tex® Waterproof membrane. This advanced membrane is not only breathable, tested for 8 hours of waterproof performance, but also contains 60% recycled content, reflecting a commitment to environmental responsibility. The upper is crafted from LWG certified water-repellent full grain black leather, providing excellent durability and further weather resistance.

The Surge boasts a 100% non-metallic construction, featuring a lightweight fibreglass protective toecap and a flexible Kevlar composite anti-penetration midsole. This makes the boot ideal for environments where metal detectors are present and reduces overall weight for enhanced comfort during long shifts. All-day comfort is further supported by an Activ-Step® PU anti-fatigue comfort footbed, designed to reduce stress and absorb impact.

The outsole complex is a robust dual density PU nitrile rubber construction, delivering unbelievable abrasion resistance, exceptional shock absorption, and significant weight reduction. It is also oil and slip-resistant to SRC standards, heat resistant to 300°C (HRO), and provides cold insulation (CI), ensuring reliable traction and protection across diverse and challenging terrains. Additional protective elements include a TPU scuff cap, a kick protector, and a ladder grip for enhanced durability and safety during specific tasks.

The Rockfall Surge leads the way in eco-conscious safety footwear. It extensively incorporates recycled materials, including recycled plastic bottle content in the upper textile elements, webbing, and laces – all durability rated. The Activ-Tex® Waterproof membrane contains 60% recycled material, and the Activ-Step® PU anti-fatigue comfort footbed contributes to a reduced environmental footprint. Even the LWG certified leather upper signifies responsible sourcing. Choosing the Surge means opting for top-tier protection while supporting sustainable manufacturing practices.

Sustainability

The forefront of safety footwear.

Rock Fall has positioned itself at the forefront of safety footwear, through world
first innovations that provide solutions to the ever-changing demands of modern industry.

It is no longer enough to just do business, we need to do business in the right way.

They're on a journey to redefine their whole product sourcing process with sustainability at its core.

Plastic Bottle Polyester (rPET)

As many as 12 plastic bottles go into a pair of Rock Fall Safety Boots.

This abrasion resistant, highly comfortable material features in upper textiles, pull loops and eyelets, within membranes, tongue and collar mesh and laces.

Our Activ-Step® Replacement laces come in Trade Boxes rather than plastic packs and are:

  • Non-wicking (waterproof)
  • Snap resistant

Exceptional product performance that doesn’t cost the earth.

Printed with Soy Ink

Our product packaging is printed with Soy Ink instead of petroleum based inks.

We made this choice as:

  • Soy Ink is renewable
  • Soy Ink is biodegradable
  • Soy Ink is longer lasting
  • Soy Ink is easier to remove when recycling

It offers vibrant colours and greater abrasion resistance as well as significant environmental benefits.

LWG accredited full grain leather

We’re one of very few manufacturers to source our leather from Leather Working Group (LWG) certified tanneries.

It is information we are proud to share, as just 20% of footwear worldwide is manufactured with leather accredited by the LWG.

LWG consistently strives to encourage environmental improvement in the leather industry.

Their key measures include reduction of water and energy usage, chemical management and material traceability.

They have impressive figures for their membership base with:

  • Average water saved by LWG rated manufacturers of 12.1 billion litres each year
  • Average energy saved by LWG rated manufacturers of 775 megawatts each year
